Greetings,

I am Pete Hickey, Kent County Commission Candidate for District 12 Serving parts of Kentwood, and Wyoming. Welcome to my web site. I believe fiscal responsibility, tax fairness and open government are not partisan issues. They’re essential to improving the quality of life in our community. This is why I will always put people over politics and be independent voice on the Kent County Commission.

I may not have all the answers, but I know how to ask the right questions. If you honor me with your vote, I will work every day to represent your interests on the Kent County Commission and will always put people over politics.

When elected to the County Commission I will:

  • Oppose the unfair double tax on Kentwood & Wyoming residents for the County Jail & 911 services.
  • Support the senior millage and oppose the diversion of money from Senior Meals to fund other county programs.
  • Demand more open debate on important county issues & oppose any efforts to make decisions behind closed doors.
  • Support a more aggressive economic development strategy that keeps critical tax dollars in Kentwood & Wyoming.
  • Oppose any future fee increases at county parks & recreation facilities that are pricing out many middle class families.
